“Playing one of the biggest festivals in Europe and the culturally most important one in our country was bucket list material. " comments singer Mirza Radonjica. "Having very little metal on the line-up it was a fun thing rubbing shoulders and sharing backstage with acts like Lizzo, Lil Nas X and Kendrick Lamar. Something to tell your kids for sure.”
Mirza Radonjica about "Sloboda":
"A personal song, with what has become our favourite composition. The grandeur of this really makes us happy. The lyrical concept is one I've had in the shelf for years. It's Mirzas personal experience with being a refugee in Denmark, growing up to be a succesful citizen, but still feeling institutionally unaccepted. By the way - the chorus line was a conversation Mirza remembered having with his mom when he was a kid. He asked why they would move from Yugoslavia to Denmark while his mother replied: Freedom, my son. (Sloboda, moj sine)."
lyrics
Sloboda, sine
Sloboda, moj sine
I’m not colorblind
Yet nobody told me
Why the world saw me
In black and white
Nobody told me
But it’s showing
‘Cause as a nation
We stand to face
A generation of what could have been
‘Cause you don’t hear us
Say we’re to blame
You still believe that
We’re not the same.
Sloboda, sine
Sloboda, moj sine
Can we slow down this train?
In this speed that we’re moving
We’re throwing
Our soul down the drain.
What is unspoken
Leaves us broken
‘Cause as a nation
We stand to face
A generation of what could have been
‘Cause You don’t hear us
Say we’re to blame
You still believe that
We’re not the same.
Sloboda, sine
Sloboda, moj sine
You live in mansions
But won’t give us holes
Are we just here to do what we’re told?
You offer ashes
And waste the gold
Are we a nation
Who sold its soul?

AMAZING album from start to finish. An emotional journey that grabs you by the nape of the neck and never lets go. I happened upon this album from nowhere, and I'm so thankful that I was brought into their universe. A mixture of several different musical genres - early 1990s alt rock, pop, funk, intricate prog rock, black metal, folk... the result is nothing short of breathtaking. A superb album by a wonderfully creative band. Thank you for existing. wymanchoyphotography666
Supplementing sasscore insanity with bolstered vocals and pop-punk songcraft, the California band are kicking ass and breaking boundaries. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 21, 2024

A second EP from this trio, who do not feature guitar in their instrumentation. Despite that, it is a very satisfying progressive rock outfit, which veers into pop territory at times. The layered vocals are the pivot from which the drummer and both keyboardists turn. There is some violin, viola, and cello, adding to the density of the production, which maintains a delicacy, even in the heaviest parts Nickie Harte Kelly
